South by Southwest, Austin's annual convergence of the latest trends in music, film and technology, has a growing share of San Antonio-area musicians performing in official showcases and unofficial side shows. Ashley McClellan attended her first Fiesta Pooch Parade at the Alamo Heights swimming pool on Saturday with her dog, Winston, dressed in a helicopter pilot outfit. There were an estimated 500 canines, large and small, at the annual Fiesta event which raises money for Therapy Animals of San Antonio.
Several Alamo Heights residents are posing an increasing number of questions and concerns over the potential sale of city land as part of a proposed mixed-use development. Owners of the property in question at Austin Highway and Broadway, Broadway Ellwood Co., presented publicly for their first time the concept of a four-story, 150-unit apartment complex at a City Council meeting Monday night.
